Week #11 Referral Spam

Spam is annoying in whatever form it comes in if its a phone call or email. One can get spam visitors on ones websites. This is usually something called a bot that is programmed to surf the internet and potentially spread malware and viruses. In Google Analytics one can check this spam out by seeing the links that are clicking on ones websites. The host name is usually the way one can analyze this spam and try to block it. One can block this spam that is coming through ones traffic. It might not be much importance but it can make a difference in when analyzing data that is accurate. The people who send this data are bots. These bots are programmed and no human controls them as monitoring them 24/7. Ghosts will pop up in ones data. This is important so one can exclude all traffic from ones GA reporting view where the browser size is as “not set” or the other way to block these ghosts is only allow the traffic to be recorded to the GA reporting view where host name is your domain name. This is a pretty easy process since Google Analytics lets you do this to make Ghosts disappear from giving one spam. Ill include below an article where it explains everything easier for one.
